Niche Site Project 5 – December 2019 Update
This site, about animals (not pets), has taken somewhat of a backburner recently. While the subject matter is very interesting to me, I worry about how well the site will be able to generate traffic.
This month I also changed the domain given the advertising laws about targeting children for ads. While the articles themselves are written by adults, for adults, the logo and domain were a little too childlike.
Rather than take the risk fo that negatively impacting the site, I moved the few articles over to a new domain that is much more clearly adult-centered.
Project Dashboard
No dashboard for this project yet. Coming soon!
Content
9 total posts on this site so far. There were 4 published back in October when the site started, and 5 published so far this month.
Traffic
Most of the traffic this month is due to the fact that a couple of my articles center around answering a specific question about a specific type of animal popular in December.
While these graphs show a nice increase in traffic, I expect them to flatline in January.
Keep in mind that anytime the blue line is higher than the orange site is probably just Google registering my visit to the site. The site should not be getting any non-organic traffic at this point in time.
Income
This site is not monetized yet.
Goals
My goal with this site is to continue to build it up over time. I also intend to put more travel-related articles on it. So the reality is it will become more of a nature/adventure type site instead of focusing on just animals.
